Call of Duty WW2 To Possibly Have Photo-realistic 3D Models

4.4
It seems like Sledgehammer Games are putting an extra amount of effort into the visuals department for this year’s Call of Duty instalment. As per a job ad posted for the developer on Activision’s official website, they’re looking for an “associate environment artist”, and if you take a gander at the requirements and the responsibilities of the role, it might give you a hint of what they’re aiming for.

The job ad says Sledgehammer are looking for someone for the job who “can build and texture awe inspiring environments” and has “a passion for creating game art.” One of the duties and responsibilities for the person applying for the job would be to “create believable, photo-realistic 3D models and textures from concept art and photo reference.”

Another responsibility mentioned is that the applicant is able to “assemble, edit, and optimize highly detailed 3D environments.” Gives you a pretty good idea of what Sledgehammer want 2017’s Call of Duty to be, at least visually speaking.

Eternity They've been using the CoD 4 engine for ages now, and its already been showing its limitations over the years. I think if they really want to reinvigorate the franchise and add this kind of visual quality, they need to have made a new engine, rather than tweaking it like we have seen since the original Modern Warfare.

Very interesting point.

Skates Sounds like they're doing anything possible to revive the franchise.

100% agree with this too. It's pretty much dead and buried and overrun with children.

I agree the games been dead ever since ghosts. Maybe even before that.

Thats good as in my opinion they have completely messed up these last few Cods.
