Is Modern Warfare Remastered’s Prop Mode Making A Return?

It’s kind of funny how something that started out as a joke with the Call of Duty series is now being taken quite seriously – and is due for a comeback.

Last week, in time for April Fools Day, Raven Software introduced a new mode to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, in the form of Prop Mode. Not your typical multiplayer mode, it has a unique twist, as players have to disguise themselves as items in the environment, while avoiding the wrath of the other team, as they try to destroy everything in their path.

The mode was available in the game over the past weekend, but, according to Amos Hodge, lead designer for Raven Software, it may come back around again sooner rather than later, as part of another Weekend Warfare event.

The official Activision Twitter account retweeted Amos’ tweet from earlier, which noted, “We are making updates to Prop Hunt based on community feedback. It will return for #WeekendWarfare once the changes are ready. #MWRemastered”

So it turns out the mode was a much bigger hit than most people expected, even with its strange set-up standing out from other popular multiplayer modes within the game. It just goes to show that what originally started as a humorous little anecdote could very well be the next big thing in the Call of Duty franchise, even if it is just for Remastered for the time being.

Now, the question is what kind of changes Raven Software will be making to the mode. Will it possibly be adding rules that indicate that the attacking players could be damaged if they shoot at items that aren’t on the other team? For that matter, could we be seeing more stages added to the mode, so we have a better variety of items to choose from (instead of, say, just being the same object over and over again)? And maybe there might even be a way to distract attacking players long enough to make the end of the round in one piece? Only time will tell.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, as part of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy Edition.

Prop Hunt was the only reason I got on this piece of shit in 2 months. They should make it a playable thing all the time.

I actually never knew they had this mode for this game lol. Does anyone know if there is like a prop hunt mod menu for any COD's that still work on X360?

It's fun they should add it as a perm gamemode.. Consider it had 150% + players playing it.. that kind of says a lot, plus it brings new players who enjoy that gamemode from 360. ( Modded )

prop hunt is fun, but the only downside is the people who play to the extent they know the detail of every map, #haloreachmemories

I missed this because i stopped playing MWR but if it returns ill be playing it for sure, Always wanted to play it but never got too only got to watch videos on a few games with it.
