Battlefield 1 overhauling how it handles updates, future DLC detailed

4.6
Battlefield 1 will see some significant and expedient changes coming in the months ahead, a base line for which developer DICE has recently laid out in a road map.

While Battlefield updates have commonly dropped once a season, DICE will soon begin introducing new updates once a month to keep up with player feedback. The updates will arrive first in the game’s Community Test Environment, giving the developers a better idea of how each will be received before launch.

One of these patches, launching in the Spring update, brings with it the new Platoon feature. Not all the details are currently known about the upcoming feature, but DICE describes it as a means to “organize and join forces with your friends, execute swift victories, and achieve goals as one unit.”

General tweaks and game adjustments can also be expected in each update. Two of these plans are highlighted in the road map; streamlining the flow of matches—particularly Operations—and introducing a feature update for the game’s Rent-A-Server program, both of which are expected to land in May.

The road map closes out with a mention of the shooter’s next DLC pack, In The Name Of The Tsar which will include new content set during a frozen Russian winter. DICE recently outlined all four of Battlefield 1‘s expansions, offering up names and basic summaries of each.

In my opinion the game is great as it is. I can see improvments only making a even bigger impact on the game. (in a good way ofcourse)
