E3 2017 is quickly approaching which means companies are starting to talk more openly about their ideas for the expo. Recently, Nintendo of America’s president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime talked about Nintendo’s plan for the show in a conversation with Fox News.

Reggie said the following about Nintendo at E3 this year:

E3 is always a big time for Nintendo. We look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games. We will have experiences for consumers who will be able to attend the show for the very first time. So I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch, but also content coming to Nintendo 3DS.

What’s most interesting about Reggie’s statement is that he makes sure to focus on the importance of the 3DS for Nintendo. Many people, myself included, have theorized that Nintendo would begin to phase out the 3DS after the release of the Switch. At least in the near future, that doesn’t seem to be happening.

Reggie also discusses the Switch’s early success in the interview while also claiming that he is still undefeated in the quick draw mini-game in 1-2 Switch. Sounds like his quick draw skills are much better than his Super Smash Bros. skills.

There’s only a few months left until we see what Nintendo has to offer at E3 2017, which takes place from June 14-16.
