Xbox Team Talks About Play Anywhere, E3, Phil Spencer, Elite Controller and More
Hryb talked about the Play Anywhere program, mentioning that Phil (Spencer) and the team did a great job and he’s really excited for the games that are going to come, promising to talk more about them at E3.
Speaking more about the Play Anywhere program, he also mentioned later in the Q&A session that, while he has nothing to announce for now, Microsoft is trying to figure out to bring the games “where you are” and on the devices that customers want.
We also hear that for now there are no plans to make the Xbox One Elite Controller available for customization in the Design Lab. On the other hand, since the Gears of War 4 Elite Controller has been successful, the accessories team is “trying to figure out what the next one could be.”
On top of that, Hryb mentioned that the store team has “really cool stuff” in the works for the Xbox Store. Features like a wish list are “absolutely on the road map.”
Hyrb also teased that he talked with General Manager of Publishing Shannon Loftis about Crackdown 3, and they have some “really cool things” planned, but this close to E3 he can’t say anything about it. That said, the game is “coming along nicely” and the team has “a lot of ambitions” for it.
Massey mentioned that one of the best things of working for Microsoft is that Phil Spencer is one of the best leaders the the Xbox division ever had, and he’s really passionate about the community. He looks at the feedback, and he is one of the first leaders that she has known that truly listens.
As a final note of console ecumenism, Hryb and Rubenstein didn’t shy away from giving shout outs to the competition, talking about how they played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the plane, with Rubenstein even pulling out his switch on stage (from a snowboard sock, because apparently that’s all the rage as a protective “case” nowadays). He also had words of praise for Horizon Zero Dawn, mentioning that Guerrilla Games did a “bang up job” with it.

Play anywhere sounds interesting, can't wait to see what they have planned for E3. Lol pretty funny he whipped out his switch.

If only they could update the Accessories app for the Elite controller so we can change the Stick Deadzone because too many developers put too big Stick Deadzones for their games on Xbox One. The current stick options in the app all have the same deadzones, the options needs to be updated to be more customizeable.

What they should do for the Elite controller is maybe fix the rubber grips. I'm on my second controller and it's grips have started to peel away and swell... Love the controller but the rubber grips suck and they do not last long even with taking care of it keeping it clean and put back in it's case.

coolbunny1234 I'm hoping Play ANywhere really expends, it's nothing more than a concept to me right now in terms of functionability.
They might have another version and make it like the nintendo switch?

Gotta admit im looking forward to what Xbox has to offer this year and next, i know alot of people are bashing them for lack of exclusives and whilst Horizon is an awesome game Zelda too i fully think that Crackdown 3 will be a great game! im really looking forward to seeing what that game is like.
On another note, Nice that Xbox have praise for the competition, its nice to see encouragement like this, unlike the constant bashing that Sony only seems capable of. In an ideal world it would be much better if different platforms could all game together, it would certainly mean a more interesting community.
