Modern Warfare Remastered Paid Map Pack Causes Major Fan Backlash

Is it 2016 all over again? Call Of Duty/Activision is once again under fire but this time it’s about the upcoming Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered DLC map pack. The map pack which is called “Variety Map Pack” and was also a DLC for the original game is going to be a paid DLC once again. Many are furious that Activision chose to make it a paid DLC again rather than a free DLC like many other developers do for remastered titles.

The complaints didn’t stop there as the DLC will actually cost more than it did when it released 9 years ago. The price for the map pack back in 2008 was $10 but it will now $14.99. It’s an extremely questionable decision by Activision, and one that has caused a lot of anger from the Call Of Duty fans with many disliking the trailer for the map pack which you can see below.

At this rate, ya'll can keep MW2R if you're actually developing it. Can't believe they're really trying to resell a DLC pack that I already paid for 10 years ago. And not just that, they jack the price up 5 more dollars and add 10 invaluable supply drops to the pack. Adding 10 drops to the pack doesn't justify the price change. This is straight up a scam.

If the game was a standalone and not an attachement to Infinite Warfare I could understand it having paid DLC.

Bad enough we can't buy the game separately. If that was an option maybe i would pay for DLC.

I have yet to pay for any DLC. Power to those who buy it and those who fill the demand. I just can justify it.

I was prepared to spend $10 on this DLC because Activision is extremely predictable, can't say I expected the price increase but whatever, I'm still getting it because nothing beats SnD on Creek or Broadcast!!!

I'm more surprised by the fact that people didn't expect this to happen. Activision, IW specifically have been known to try and get money anyway possible, look at Ghosts and the amount of DLC they had there. It was speculated when MWR's maps were announced that DLC would come out with the old maps and maybe new ones. Even if IW or Activision said they weren't going to charge for DLC of old map packs, people still shouldn't have taken their word because MWR was supposed to stay true to it's roots, and now there is loot crates, different guns, melee weapons and I believe player customization skins, ect.
