Nintendo Switch becomes fastest selling console in company's history

4.3
After promising the world an inventory of two million Switch consoles for launch, it appears that after only two days, the Switch has already helped achieve some incredible milestones for the company.

In a string of tweets, New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield let loose some facts from his interview with Nintendo President and COO of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé. According to Wingfield, the Switch is the fastest selling Nintendo console to date. There was also positive news on the software front as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild became the best-selling standalone launch title in Nintendo's history, eclipsing even the highly popular Super Mario 64.

The Nintendo Switch went on sale on March 3 for $299.99. While pre-orders were made available with some stock reserved for launch day walk-ins, the product sold out fairly quickly, with most retailers now waiting upon the next shipment of the console. While this is undoubtedly exciting news for Nintendo, the real question is how quickly will they be able to replenish stock to quell feverish demand.

It's not bad but just not the console for me, good to see it striving for the company though.

Good job Nintendo, I'd say the Switch somewhat lived up to it's hype. With some minor problems here and there, still a rad console. I'm still waiting to cop one myself.
