Nintendo Switch games can apparently be portable-only
Called Voez, the Japanese rhythm game has no button prompts and requires the players to use the touchscreen at all times. This means that players will only be able to use the game while the Switch is undocked—a first for the system.
Before this, Nintendo had never confirmed whether or not games would need to work on both the big screen in docked mode and on the smaller screen in portable mode. Voez could open up the door to more varieties of games, such as 3DS sequels that would require a touchscreen to work. The inverse could also be true, with certain games working only while the Switch is docked, though there’s no proof of this yet.
Voez is a mobile game, so this could pave the path forwards for other mobile and tablet-oriented games to make their way onto the Switch’s tablet-like form. We’ll have to wait and see what new game types emerge to work with both aspects of the Switch.

Vader Fair enough, and it makes sense. There could be a game that requires a bit more input then you can give off a joycon, it should be interesting and open up the style of games on the console.
This. I think it would be kinda cool to see games like this on the switch. It would add a nice sense of variety, but could also be inconvenient.

I can personally see this getting annoying, hopefully this approach for games isn't over-done

Skates Hope this doesn't become a thing with future games cause I never planned to play my Switch on the go. Mostly just something my girl and I could have some fun on and just chill on the couch.
It wont hurt the console one bit..
This is a great idea.
