Xbox boss delivers some bad news to backward compatibility fans

4.4
There are many people who want Call of Duty: Black Ops II to come to the Xbox One backward compatibility program, however, that doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen any time soon.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer took to Twitter recently to help people in managing their expectations. Generally pretty quiet about third-party games arriving on backwards compatibility, the stress of dealing with so many fans must be weighing on Microsoft, as its staff has become more and more vocal.

Responding to questions about Xbox One backward compatibility on Twitter, Spencer apparently shut down any hope of Call of Duty: Black Ops II arriving next month.

Those with a more optimistic outlook—or the delusional—may declare that there is a possibility that Spencer was responding that he had no comments on Black Ops II—not that the game wouldn’t be arriving in February. Personally, I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.

Nicholas I don't know why, or how hard it would be to make this game backwards compatible. It would make a lot of people happy.

Its not Microsofts desicion, its entirely up to Activision if they want to go through with it.

i wouldnt say its not their desicion since the files are already there waiting and treyarch would have to add the xbox ones file to make it work since console is outdated anyways chances are treyarch wont do it nether would activ

Possible game they could remaster and make more money from.

It's never been an issue of making it run, it's an issue of getting Treyarch or possibly even Activision to give the green light for the C.O.D. franchise to be made B.C.

If there not doing BO2 there either doing MW2 or not doing it at all. No more remastered cods

I can imagine he's probably tired of hearing people ask for bo2 so that's why he responded
