Call Of Duty Top-Selling Franchise For The 7th Year In A Row

4.8
The Call Of Duty Franchise has always been pulled into the dilemma of being the best FPS shooter of all. In 2016, a spark between EA’s Battlefield 1 and Activision’s Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare set the fire between both franchises. With EA playing differently this time around by allowing gamers to experience WW1, EA definitely seemed like they’ve got the whole cake once hatred was fired at Infinite Warfare’s Trailer released on YouTube.

EA’s Battlefield 1 is indeed an amazing game that changes our perspective of our history, but according to sales figures by revenue, it seems like COD took the cake again in 2016 by becoming the top seller worldwide for 7 years in a row, and top-seller in the US for 8 years in a row, reports Kevin Kelly who is the Editorial Manager at Activision.

“Call of Duty is the #1 console franchise worldwide in 2016,” – said Eric Hirshberg, Activision CEO.

The CEO then added:

“We’re thankful to our players for once again putting Call of Duty on top, and we recognize how rare this is – to do year after year. That’s why we push to deliver innovations and incredible gameplay that are worthy of the best fans in the world time and again. And we have an exciting year ahead in 2017.”

NSX Lmao MWR saving that ass

Honestly it did in some way but in others has hurt the community immensely. The CoD fanbase is now split between two active online games. Sure the developers gave everyone the best of both worlds with a boots on the ground as well as a more futuristic shooter. Both games are fun and I've prestiged on IW twice. The issue comes in that players can't switch between the game's playstyles quickly because they're so vastly different so players are sticking to one game out of the two. I personally have only played MWR since new years because the TTK on the games and the flows are just too much of a change.

Because its a cash cow and people will continue to buy it no matter what. When the trailer comes out everyone will talk shit and hate on it but the night its released they are all at the local game store picking it up

This doesn't make sense Treyarch are the only ones who make a decent CoD anymore

So COD sold more copies than Battlefield 1. Bf1 has still raked in millions of dollars so i dont think the developers are too mad
