Don't Tweet Major Nelson about Black Ops 2 Backwards Compatibility

4.6
It seems as though Xbox Live chief Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb is fed up with users repeatedly asking him on social media about whether or not Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be made available via backwards compatibility on the Xbox One.

The Treyarch-developed shooter has been the most-requested Xbox 360 game to receive backwards compatibility for a number of months now, with over 200,000 user votes.

After a series of recently released fakes purportedly showing the title running on Microsoft’s newer console were widely circulated on Twitter over the holiday period, Hryb has been inundated with users demanding to know when the game is scheduled to be updated with BC support.

The executive initially seemed exasperated in his response to the fan queries, requesting that users ‘stop asking’ about the release as he had no information to share:

Later, however, Hryb decided to respond to the question in a more creative and cunning way. After fans ignored his pleas to desist questioning him on Black Ops II, the exec began replying to all users who messaged him about the game with a link that seemingly led to an entry on his website discussing the issue.

However, as many soon found out, the page in question actually redirects users to the game’s Wikipedia page.

Hyrb has also begun linking users to a FAQ on his official website that explains co-ordinated fan tweets will have no bearing on whether a game is updated to include backwards compatibility.

I can understand the frustration. I mean, it isn't like this is the first time people are asking about it. I think it'd be more rational to be asking Treyarch or even the head of Xbox. I would be surprised if Major Nelson had any say in it.

Why can't people understand its nothing to do with Xbox in till the original publisher of the game agrees to making a game backwards compatible, spam the publishers instead.

cant see why he is getting mad at people i mean they are supporting what they are doing with Backwards Compatibility, and since they haven't made half the games people voted for BC everyone is going to tweet him reminding him about it.

I don't see why he is mad im sure they said it will be a thing, Personally i don't want Bo2 on Bc i don't like the game.

I get this but can't he essentially ignore these remarks after clearing up the fact he's the only one to post official titles?

I understand he is getting frustrated but they did kinda hint at it, leading the community to believe it would be coming soon

they shouldn't have advertised like they did.. ofcourse people will complain if you screw up like this..

Wow I am very not happy with Xbox they need to start listening to the people. They should because we pay to get online and enjoy playing games having good time.

Xbox can't just release games backwards compatible anyway, it's up to the publishers. I'd be angry or annoyed too with people always asking this over and over.

I just want Mw2 and black ops 2 to be Backwards Compatibility. I feel bad for him tho. It would get annoying to always see if its confirmed or not.
