Battlefield 1 Will Have No Framerate Cap on PC

4.4
Mafia 3 may have ended up pissing a lot of players on PC off with its framerate that was capped at 30fps, but it doesn’t look like what promises to be one of the biggest PC releases of this year will. DICE and EA have confirmed that the PC version of the upcoming World War 1 era shooter, Battlefield 1, will do right by PC players. It will have no framerate cap whatsoever, according to BFCentral.

This means that you can now take the framerate for Battlefield 1 as high on PC as your system will allow, which is exactly how things should be (indeed, the very notion of framerate caps for PC games is a bit of a modern phenomenon).

Of course, DICE and Battlefield have never compromised on PC versions of their games, so this isn’t as much of a surprise. Still, it’s good to see the developers continuing to honor their PC gaming heritage, unlike so many other developers these days.

No game should have an FPS lock on PC. Bad game design to lock fps and to tie game logic to FPS

Why would it ever be capped? The beta was unlocked framerate all BF games have been 60 fps. This isn't even news.

Lost How much of a benefit would that really give you? I don't think it's really necessary but at least you have the option.

What I was thinking hints my smart ass comment

That's awesome. But even if I did buy the game on PC (which Im more than likely not) I still couldn't get a high frame rate I bet.

I'm not a PC gamer so I don't know how it feels when gaming. 30fps sounds good to me but I'd rather 60 to be honest.

I guess this is one way not to piss off the community.
