Microsoft adds two games to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

4.4
Microsoft today added two additional titles to the list of Xbox 360 games that are backward compatible with the Xbox One. Last week only saw the addition of Joust and Call of Duty 2, so hopefully this marks the beginning of a busier week.

Today's new titles are Forza Horizon and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. Forza Horizon shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, as it's slated to be available for free to Xbox Live Gold members through Microsoft's Games with Gold program beginning on September 1.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse ($14.99)

Mickey Mouse returns to star in Castle of Illusion, a fantastical reimagining of the Sega Genesis classic. With all-new HD graphics and gameplay, Castle of Illusion brings Mickey and his world to life in this magical Disney adventure! When the evil witch Mizrabel kidnaps Minnie, it’s up to Mickey to brave the dangers of the Castle of Illusion to rescue Minnie. Gather your courage and traverse enchanted forests, take on hordes of rebellious toys and navigate mazes of living books. Play as Mickey and save Minnie from Mizrabel’s evil clutches! Features: - Play as Mickey Mouse in this reimagining of the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game. - Experience a world of wonder, brought to life with all-new graphics and magical adventures. - Journey across five magical worlds filled with Mizrabel’s powerful minions. - Complete hidden challenges to customize Mickey with classic costumes!

Forza Horizon ($19.99)

Where cars belong! Celebrate speed, music, and style at the Horizon Festival. From the makers of the highest-rated racing franchise of this generation, Forza Horizon combines legendary Forza authenticity with the freedom of the open road.

While backward compatible games are a great way to find fun new titles on the cheap, don't forget that you still have another day to grab this month's Games with Gold. Until the end of the month, you can grab Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (Xbox One) and Beyond Good & Evil HD (Xbox 360). You can also grab WWE 2K16 (Xbox One) until September 15.

It felt good to get back on Horizon. Get into the feel again before the 3rd is released. Looking forward to it.

I was really happy to see that Forza Horizon was on here. Downloaded it and the DLC i purchased for in on the 360, but sad to see that i am getting really bad lag.... literally unplayable because the fps is so low.

Alli Wish they would add more of the games that people want rather than a mickey mouse game.

Right, like adding all the Cods. That would be a good business move imo.

Pretty sure the entire universe would implode if that were to happen

Not up to Microsoft, Activision would have to allow it

Gonna try and complete Horizon now that it's backwards compatible.

Sucks, banned from horizon for non playable vehicles in my garage. Quite a fun game though to play until FH3 comes out.

I think they will, once the major 'hype' for the new CoD is released. They've already got a few for BC and only a handful left to go. They just want people to play the current game at $60 instead of an old game at $20. Gotta look at those profits, bois. Probably after Holiday, once the major sales are gone they'll release the others.
