Infinite Warfare Will Have The Classic “Boots In The Ground” Movement

Although a lot of the criticism that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare got after its initial reveal was directed at just how much of a departure from classic Call of Duty it looked to be, subsequent media, as well as statements made by developers, seem to have reinforced that the new game will be more like the Call of Duty that fans know and love.

Speaking to GamingBolt about the movement system in Infinite Warfare, for example, Infinity Ward’s Brian Horton emphasized that while the game would eventually explore movement in zero-G in space, it would also have the classic ‘boots in the ground’ movement from the older games, as well as the movement system from Black Ops 3.

“So our focus was to try and create a fluid navigation system that starts in Geneva with the classic “boots in the ground” movement; as we go into space we really try to explore what it meant to have movement in zero-G,” Horton said. “You’ll see that the player will be able to use the grapple hook as means to navigate through a zero-G space. In addition to that, there will be sections where you’ll be able to use enhanced navigation like double jumps and wall runs.”

That is something that, yet again, should come as good news to longtime Call of Duty fans. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is due out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November.

So basically what this means is that in addition to zero gravity and movement system similar to Black Ops 3, we will also be able to walk on the ground. WOW. That seems like a "boots on the ground" game to me. Half the people commenting don't actually read past the headline.

So they say "boots on the ground" movement yet also include the fact that there are BO3 movement areas as well as Zero-G.
This just means that, no, it's not just boots on the ground movement so this whole article was completely pointless...

sus so all this hatred has been over nothing ? i'm sure it was originally going to be a boost movement and they noticed the horrible feedback and have been working on changing the movement style back to the classic movement style


The explanation seems to be all over the place. There's supposedly 3 different movement systems depending on different factors(maps, gamemodes??). I'm just hoping there isn't a "classic" playlist like in Advanced Warfare that nobody uses again because it's not how the game was built to be played.


Its funny because thats pretty much all I played on AW because the jet packing was dumb.

devdav96 so I'm going to preorder from gamestop. the night of release imma buy it and sell it back to them for 30$ and just get cod 4 for 40$ because come on people everyone is buying it for modern warfare anyways


That's what I was gonna do or sell it on eBay for $50 new since little kids' parents will be buying it for them.


They're on the same disk. You digitally download CoD4 to your console and then Infinite Warfare is your key so to speak to unlock CoD4 so you can play it. You can't return one without losing the other.

no he doesnt cause nothing about that has been said yet all i know is well get a code in the case since you download the game it wont need the iw but iw looks good but man cod 4 will beat it by far but yeah the guy who said youll need iw after downloading cod4 has no source and it would be stupid
