Microsoft has today confirmed that Xbox Live users in the UK won't be seeing a rise in the prices for 3, 6 and 12-month Gold subscriptions.Following the unexpected announcement of an increase in price for Xbox Live Gold membership for users in the USA, Canada and Mexico, many users in the UK were worried about whether or not they'd have to be forking over extra cash.

However, a Microsoft spokesperson has today CVG:

"The price rise only relates to single-month subscriptions in the UK."

As we reported yesterday, UK users purchasing 1 month codes will have to hand over £1 extra.

Users in the USA, Canada, Mexico and several other locations will be having a much bigger gap in prices. For instance, 12-month subscriptions will go from $49.99 to $59.99- a massive increase indeed.

Said price hikes will become effective on November 1st, 2010.
