Fallout 5 Location
Word on the street is that the next instalment of the Fallout series will be called Fallout 5 and development will begin after the next Elder Scrolls game is released. So there's still a long wait ahead! So far every game has been set in the USA excluding some DLC. We've already had Boston, Washington DC, Nevada, West Virginia, Oregan and Southern Carolina. This next Fallout game feels like it may be make or break for the series and the location is a vital key to deciding how this next game will function. It is time to try a bolder approach now. It would be very interesting to see the next game set outside of the USA. Perhaps in Africa? Or even Russia or China? It would be nice to see a change of pace, but could such a great change detract from the essence of Fallout? However, if the game does stick to the USA, as is most likely, one feels that it'd be vital to make a switch to a location that could influence the whole feel of the game as New Vegas did with the whole retro wild west theme. Perhaps a futuristic old-school gangster theme could work, set in New York or Chicago. Maybe take the game down to the jazz scene in New Orleans or a revamp of Southern California mixed into the birth of the beatnik movement under the suffocating weight of McCarthyism. There's certainly a lot of opportunity, and it really needs to be taken advantage of. One senses another setting like Washington, West Virginia or Boston could be the killing of the series... Where would you like the next Fallout game location to be? Which locations would excite you the most? |
