I've been looking into the various cpus and gpus, and just getting more confused about what I actually need, so I thought I'd ask you guys for advice on where to start. Here's what I'm looking to do:
I want to build a gaming PC, and I'm really only interested in regular HD (1080p). However, I do want to be able to run my games at essentially max settings, with little to no frame rate issues. Cost is not a huge factor, though I obviously don't want to spend more than I need to. I'm currently using a gaming laptop with a 2070 mobile gpu. It handles the games I play pretty well, but not generally at really high settings, which is what I really want to do. I've been looking hard at the 6800 XT gpu, but I'm wondering, is that overkill for 1080, even on max settings, or should I even think about going even higher end? Thanks! |
