I travel 27 miles for work and only spend about $30 on fuel every week. Price per gallon is a little over $7.80 where I am.

Yes I've actually just looked at a 2022 Yamaha R1

No one seems to like my advice when it comes to this, however I'm serious when I say buy a Prius. I daily drove a 2007 Prius for a couple years and honestly I loved it. I didn't give a rip about that car, didn't care about any dents or scratches, never had to wash it, and I got 45 mpg. That was to offset the 10 MPG I get in my truck lol, bu eventually I did trade it in on a Mazda CX5 that gets 28ish mpg.

As for the rebel... Don't get me wrong it has some cool features but those are expensive. I don't know what year yours is but the newer Rams have had a lot of issues with the MDS which is not a cheap fix. Same thing with the air suspension across the board. I personally wouldn't own one out of warranty, my brother has a 2016 and is paying hand over fist to keep that thing running with only 70k miles on it lol.

Also if you can park 2 cars, it may be worth getting a 2nd vehicle that's good on gas if you really do like your truck. For me, my truck costs me about $700/year just for tabs and insurance. I just filled up the tank and with diesel costing a fortune at $5.79 I start to crunch the numbers. On average I drive 20k miles a year. If I were to drive the truck every day, diesel to stay at its current rate and I only get 10 mpg, I spend $11,580 on diesel. Just between diesel and insurance and registration I'm right around $12,300. On the other side, I filled up my Mazda for $4.49 and that gets 28ish mpg. For the same 20k miles, gas costs me $3,207. Right off the bat my Mazda saves me $8,373 in fuel alone. If we were to work in the Prius, that would only cost me $2,000 saving me $9,580. Considering I only bought that car for $7,000, at the end of the year the car would've paid for its self AND saved me extra money. I paid $20k for the Mazda but I waned newer with more options so it'll take a while for that to pay its self off.
