Hello,

I am looking to find out peoples perceptions on concussion in Sport.

1 - Do you think concussion in sport is an issue?
2 - Have you suffered from concussion in sport before?
3 - What methods do you use to reduce concussion risk / increase concussion awareness?
4 - Are you aware of any tech on the market that can aid in concussion in sport? If so, what is this?
5 - Do you think sports governing bodies are doing enough to improve concussion management in sport?
6 - If you play sport(s) yourself, are you aware of any sport related concussion protocols in place? If so, what are these? do you use them? do they work?
7 - What are your thoughts on the recent media attention to concussion and head trauma in sport?
8 - How can tech help with concussion? Is there a gap in the market?

Any thoughts, opinions, comments and or views on the above would be welcomed.

Thank you

1. Yes
2. Yes, basketball and snowboarding
3. Follow standard protocol for given sport, but accidents happen (ex. wearing a helmet snowboarding)
4. Football helmets are mostly now all state of the art and rules are in place to minimize head to head contact in the NFL, but it is pretty much part of the game at this point
5. No, CTE is so prevalent and it is often not until someone dies that their brains are studied and analyzed
6. Not really, as an adult, sports are more recreational now and not competitive
7. It gets no representation, football players get paid millions of dollars to get their brains scrambled
8. Depends on the league and the social/moral/economic obligation to protect their players
