Hi,

I already have a PC

R5 3600x
RTX 2060

But since the 30 series cards came out I've been trying to grab a 3060TI

I'm debating buying one of these and selling off my old PC.

Thoughts?

Seems a good price considering the shortage of GPU's.

I'll probably get 7-800 back for mine as it sits.

Personally, ive never liked pre-builds. But i will say if you get it for a good price you cant go wrong!
(The link failed for me)

just a couple things i would do, buy a little thermal paste and put it on yourself. A lot of people i know have over heating issues with pre builds.

I feel your situation for sure. The only way I could find a 3090 was via pre-built if I didn't want to pay a scalper.

My suggestion to you would be buy from a reputable builder like NZXT. People will try and shit on you for buying a prebuilt but if you get something decent and you have the money there's nothing to be ashamed of. Just watch where you're buying from and make sure they have a good reputation.

Unless you have a realistic need or really are struggling to drive games with a 2060 i'd suggest just waiting the shortage out. It'll eventually end. This isn't the first time the GPU market has been insanely overpriced.

If you can't find one on swapping sites or forums/markets. A prebuilt would be a viable option, you just need to remember what you're getting isn't nearly half of what it could be for the same price. You could individually sell of your components and get more than 7-800. The GPU alone would net 4-600 minimum.

I wish the shortage would end but at this rate idk I mean it's been a year or so since 30 series has dropped and still a shortage but best bet is martlet places have some good deals got my 3060 for 650.

Long story short I grabbed a 3060 TI that I'm very happy with - the price was probably 10% over what I should have paid so I don't mind.

Next question is - I'm currently using 16gb (2x8gb) Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 3000 MHz on a R5 3600x - worth upgrading to the Vengeance 3600 MHz 16gb (2x8gb)?

Cheers!

10% over really isn't that bad at all in the current market. I'm surprised you even found a GPU without buying a pre-built tbh.

As for RAM, not worth it IMO. Waste of money to replace 16GB RAM with another slightly faster 16GB kit. Better off just adding another 16GB kit @ 3000MHz for 32GB total, if anything.

Believe it or not that was from a small local PC shop too.

Looks like I'll keep an eye out for another 16gb kit.
