Good job on this for sure, Mining is all Easy-Mode though.

I appreciate the guide! Just started running this on my laptop since I haven't been using it and will startup my pc to do so at night/ at work.

Super helpful guide! Wanna get more into this.

Is there enough money in it to get dedicated miners and still profit?

Raptoreum (RTM) CPU mining is now highly profitable for most AMD Zen and some Intel CPUs.

Estimate hashrate and profit: mineraptoreum.com

CPU miner software: github.com/WyvernTKC/cpuminer-gr-avx2/releases
RTM pool: flockpool.com
Exchange: tradeogre.com

    0. Register an account at an exchange that has RTM deposits or create a wallet.

    1. Download the latest release of cpuminer-gr and extract the archive.

    2. Open the config.json file in Notepad.

    3. Change the "url" line to "stratum+tcp://us.flockpool.com:4444".

    4. Change the "user" line to your RTM wallet. Enter a worker name after the period.

    5. Change the "threads" line to the number of threads of your CPU. Save the file.

    6. Right-click cpuminer.bat and run as administrator. The miner must always run as admin.

    7. Wait while the miner tunes. A tune_config file will be created once complete.

EDIT: Use Xmrig. See updated info in original post.

Thought I would bump, this is very useful information to anyone getting into crypto mining. The last couple days have been my first time getting into mining crypto. At first I tried nicehash just to see what I was in store for, and today I have started using Gminer with Flexpool.

These are my rates so far with a 3070 and 1660 ti. I plan to add more cards that I have once I figure out how to optimize these cards to perform as best as they can. I still have a lot more learning to do.

Updated. I tested many pools and miners on the way to 1 GH/s.

Use Flexpool for good performance, website stats, and cheap Polygon network payouts.

Use T-Rex miner for Nvidia LHR cards, LolMiner for Nvidia non-LHR cards, and LolMiner or TeamRedMiner for AMD cards.

Use MSI Afterburner to set your overclock to -502 core, +1300 memory, and 135w power limit. Tweak from there. Use curve to lock core at 1100 if you want.

This is for noobs like myself

I have gotten the most out of my 3070 LHR and 1660 ti that I have been comfortable with at around 90mh/s and have been using Nicehash for a couple reasons. For one, I don't have a rig or anything setup, as I just have two personal gaming computers running. Giving a comfortable number I would say that I mine about 85-90% of what I would make using a pool and mining whatever coin is the most profitable for me. The main thing I'm really fond of is my temps are always superb, and I don't have to worry about my card melting because I done goofed again for the 100th time. Below I'll list some pros and cons I have found using Nicehash so far.

Pros of using Nicehash

- Stable Platform
- Less Risky
- Nicehash Quickminer autodetects LHR cards (Similar to T-rex Miner but you don't have to do anything)
- Multi Algorithem
- Super easy for beginners
- Can still be setup in Hive OS to fully control overclocks and voltage
- Mobile App to track earnings, reports, disable/enable rigs, temps, etc.
- Easy payouts and Withdrawals
- Users can use the NiceHash wallet to store cryptocurrencies in cold storage.
- Puts your mining on autopilot (NiceHash Miner and NiceHash OS allow profit switching. This means that the miner will switch algorithms if one algorithm is paying more than the other. All payments are still in BTC no matter the coin)

Cons of using Nicehash

- You're mining for someone else
- Using NiceHash will be slightly less profitable than directly mining coins
- You worry about the hack of NiceHash that occurred in 2017
- If your electricity is very expensive, your ROI might not be worth it

Personally this works best for me with what I have setup currently, and with the price of cards at an all time high it is a risky investment in my opinion to start expanding. If anyone was interested, my current setup nets me about $40-$50 in profit a week which is not bad for a small passive income.

- I plan on editing this post more with some of my personal Nicehash analytics after I reach a month of use

I help a decently large mining company and this a very simple, effective tutorial.
