Hey guys so I have an HP Omen Laptop Model 15-AX243DX I'm looking to upgrade/revamp a little. After years I finally opened it up and cleaned it and noticed I had an additional RAM slot. I'm wondering If I were to buy a second RAM card and upgrade from 8 to16GB should I buy two brand new matching RAM cards? Also once the RAM cards are in is there anything I need to do on my PC for the 16GB to become available or is that automatic upon placing them in?
Also removable are the Wifi Card and Battery both I'm thinking about replacing/upgrading is that worthwhile to do so and if so could anyone help find appropriate parts? The laptop runs fine as it is, fans were loud due to dust backup but it runs smooth and can handle moderate gaming, would the RAM upgrade and replacements make it any better? I read online that these weren't able to be upgraded but looking inside it seems so simple! Picture of Inside PC *fans no longer gross* |

should I buy two brand new matching RAM cards? yes you should if you can't find the same one at least get the same speed

Loke wrote should I buy two brand new matching RAM cards? yes you should if you can't find the same one at least get the same speed Thanks so much man pretty much everything I was looking for. I have to matching ones found already so I'll go that route and I have a HDD so I'll be looking into solid states thanks! Crucial 8GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/S X2 Crucial BX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD should both work! |
