i currently have a msi gf63 i5 laptop which can run a good few games like cold war etc at 70fps but dips too much i am looking to upgrade to something alot more powerful but in a desktop any help/advice be great. maybe even a overclockers pc that is good price.

What is your budget and currency? 1.4k gbp
What will you use the PC for? playing AAA/Demanding games like Warzone, Star Wars BF 2, Rainbow six siege and also use to stream possibly
Monitor: not got a monitor had a look around and am fancying this MSI Optix G27C4 Full HD 27" Curved LED Gaming Monitor but open to suggestions for a cheaper alternative but monitor is not included in budget
Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals? N/A
Do you need an operating system? windows 10 but hoping to get one with the system
Will you overclock? probably not but would like the option to
Anything else we should know? N/A

Wouldn't go near a 2080 at the moment.

Keep look out for restocks on 3070's and go from there.

I'd do same for a 5600x

2 quick questions:
1. Are you willing to watch for updates to stock on a GPU and CPU? Aka being on alert sites/alert discords/alert apps to try getting parts with currently extremely high demand with low stock?
2. Realistically how much storage do you need? For example, would you be fine with starting with 1TB of storage then upgrading later on, or do you need more storage now?
Given those answers Ill try throwing something together for you

Thanks for the responses i was looking around the market for gpus and the prices were extortionate if any available so found building my own would not really be viable unless i bought something lower then upgraded later on. I ended up buying a pre built with a GTX 3070 in it and spent just over my budget but was worth it. Thanks everyone who took their time to build me something and will definitely +rep you all

Yeah, it's unfortunate, but with the current market, a pre-built is almost your only chance to actually find anything in stock, especially for a 'reasonable' price

Your only other real option would have been to sit and wait until you found an RTX 3070 in stock for a decent price, and then once you'd had that, build the rest of the system around it, but it could've potentially taken you months to find a reasonably priced 3070 to build a system around.
