What is your budget and currency? £600 (GBP)
What will you use the PC for? For gaming and office work, mostly AAA games; COD, CSGO, Starwars BF2.
Do you need a monitor? If not, what monitor(s) will you be using?
Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals?
Do you need an operating system?
Will you overclock?

Anything else we should know?

I'll personally be building it as that's my profession however I've been out the loop some time with up to date specs. Budget can be stretched maybes by £50 - £100 depending on benefits. He already has a 1TB HDD for games so just an SSD for boot would be great.

Thank in advance

Oh, he has a 1080p 60Hz monitor which is fine for the lad. He isn't looking to upgrade his monitor any time soon.

Heres a build i quickly made on PC part picker.

I haven't included a gpu in the price, because prices rn are insane. Have a look on Facebook marketplace or local selling sites to see if you can see if you can find a used 5600 or maybe a GTX 1070 or so,. that should be able to handle the game just fine at 1080p.

Apologies for the bump, he has now said he has £800 to spend rather than the original £600.

Would you guys mind updating the build?

Thank you!

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£180.00 @ Currys PC World)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£95.47 @ Scan.co.uk)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (£68.08 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£89.99 @ Ebuyer)
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB Video Card (£239.96 @ Laptops Direct)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower Case (£63.99 @ AWD-IT)
Power Supply: Corsair CXM (2015) 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£57.49 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £794.98

GPU is gonna give you a hard time. If you can get a GTX 1660/Super/Ti for £250ish, that'll do the job. More expensive than that sort of GPU should be now IMO, but it's actually not a terrible price considering the rest of the GPU market at this point.
Laptops direct were an absolute nightmare last time I dealt with them, so I'd be wary. If you purchase from them and there is any issue, just immediately return the product for a full refund and try to find a GPU elsewhere. Since that's the only reasonably priced 1660/Super/Ti I can find ANYWHERE right now, you might just have to try from laptops direct and hope you don't have any problems.

For context; Last time I used Laptops Direct, I purchased a phone which was supposed to be brand new and shipped next day. Delivery took a week, the item was damaged, and clearly a refurbished unit. They offered me like 20 quid to just keep it(so obviously just palming off damaged/refurb units and hoping people will just deal with it)... so obviously I immediately returned it for a full refund.
