I have billions due to being a retail CHAMP, but for you poverty spec people, I recommend that you only buy the "ASDA smart price" items.

Smart-price toothpaste is just as good as the leading brands! Buy adding small amounts of PVA glue to every batch, it coats your pearly whites (or yellows for you Brits) in a protective transparent layer!

Save the hundreds, use the odd dollars.

If you get paid $584.67 one week, put the $500 away and keep the $84.67 to do whatever you want with it. Not the best method nowadays but when I was younger, still in school and didn't have any bills, it's a good way to put a lot away.

Nowadays, just have to have self control and know what you can and can't spend.

Craig wrote Self control.

Only buy essentials.

Exactly what Craig has said, just buy essential. It can be hard at times but believe me it's much better to have money in the bank than have nothing at all.

I keep up with my bills and only buy necessary things.

I have a savings account and I found out if I build my account up to so much money and than transfer money over it helps save more.
So say you have 10,000 right now I would take 2000 to the savings account and than build the account back up to 10,000 and than transfer over another 2000.

I put my money in my investment account and don't think of it as money that I can use.

Get your money in checks.or pull the cash out when you get paid. And only leave in there what you need. So you pull out let's say $500 and leave $300 in bank. Put your money inside a box or a safe. And keep it in one hundreds. So you are not tempted to split the shiny new $100 and you save it.

I use a budget and actually stick to it. Watch Dave Ramsey. He will make you want to not blow money.
