Honestly, not really. If my end goal is selling the car shortly after then it's a waste of money. I would spend around 30-70$ For a full clean and detail anything above that is unreasonable. Spending too much on a car that's going to be sold and then cleaned again from whoever buys it. And I'm sure a 70$ wash/detail would make the car attractive and clean enough.

Do it yourself


Exterior:
    Cheap electric power washer
    Foam gun attachment
    Blue Coral soap
    Lucas Slick Mist Speed spray wax
    2x microfiber wash mitt
    Microfiber towels
    Large microfiber drying towel


Tires:
    All purpose cleaner
    303 Products 30308 Aerospace Proctectant
    Bristle brush


Inside windows:
    Mix water, alcohol, and a little white vinegar
    Microfiber towels


Interior:
    Vacuum
    Paper towels
    Water
    Air compressor


Optional:
    Clay bar if you have stubborn crap on paint
    CarPro Iron-X if you have iron contaminants on paint



0. Scrub tires with APC, wash
1. Pressure wash car
2. Foam car, use wash mitts, keep car wet
3. Pressure wash car
4. While wet, dry and wax windows, buff with dry towel
5. Dry and wax paint
6. Apply 303 to tires
7. Clean and wax hidden painted panels

Work fast. Don't let water dry while you work. Paint and wheel towels stay separate. Machine wash your stuff with odorless and dye-free detergent.

$500 to detail a car it better look like it was just made brand new not a scratch of pain not a smudge I should be able to eat off the damn thing for $500 that's just insane I've seen the most expensive detail around my area barely reach $100 and they look immaculate

you car must be in really really REALLY bad shape if they're charging you that much even then that's still expensive. The most I've seen for a full detail car is around $300 and the car was like brand new again. Me personally would just detail it myself and save the rest on a rainy day. Definitely go somewhere else especially if you selling it it's not worth it most you should spend is $100 or less if I was selling the car.

A £500 detail is outrageous. That's almost 900 Canadian dollars. I wouldn't do that even if I were a millionaire. My shop has certified automotive detailers and even our "Premium/Platinum (overpriced)" detail is only 410$/240£.
