Hey everyone, new in town. I recently took out my Xbox, realized the adapter cord to the power supply was missing. So I ordered a comparable one online. The supply went from amber, to green with the Xbox on, then red shutting down the Xbox.

Figured I'd just get a new matching power supply and cord off eBay. Same thing. Any suggestions on how to get my Xbox running?

This was written a little poorly could you maybe explain a little more in depth?

You said you got all new cables correct?

Disregard. Seller suggested I go to YouTube for troubleshooting. Don't know why I didn't think of that. Turns out, my original comparable cord worked with the new supply and my old. And the new supply works with its matching cord.

Bill Gates designed a console that "Now" only turns on by pressing the eject button. Smh.

It should turn on with both no matter which power supply you use

Sounds like the ribbon has shorted out that powers the main button on the console. For $8 you can replace the ribbon cable
