Well upgrading won't do a whole lot in terms of performance unless you actually want to use the full features of your 7700K and overclock it. If you don't want to do that then no, there's no point in upgrading.

Should you have the budget or need to upgrade then I suggest yes, a new CPU & motherboard would be beneficial.

Thanks for your answer!

Well I'm not really interested in overclocking my cpu to be honest, Should I just save up for an RTX graphic card and keep my motherboard? I can't really upgrade both!

Depending on what the rest of your specs are. You might be better of just waiting till the 3000 series come out in a few months then upgrading.

No point of upgrading for no reason too unless you're not getting the performance that you're expecting.

I definitely wouldn't be buying a Z270 chipset motherboard now. It's already several generations old, and limits your upgradability in the future. I'd just hold on to your current CPU+Mobo for now, and when you're ready for an upgrade, do them both at the same time.

Don't do that either. I measn, first of all, we're already on "10th gen" so 8th and 9th are already dated, and in 5 years time they'll definitely make zero sense to buy new.

That's true but the thing is that I can never get PC parts before they're at least over 5 years old, since that's when I can kinda afford them. :/
