JE wrote Its pretty late and im here listining to trance music, got me thinking .. any of you ever experienced sleep paralysis ? If so, how many times, does it happen often and what do you think its the cause of it ? Ill like to hear some stories .. if you dont know what it is look it up, maybe you already have experience this but dont know the name .. theres 2 different answers the religion belief and the science belief .. whats your input on that?

If people share their thoughts ! ill share some of my stories in the comment section !

I had a weird one when I was 14 or 15. I was asleep for probably 2-3hours then wide awake and a dark figure at the end of my bed couldn't move or anything for about 5-10 solid mins. Had a panick attack and went to my brothers room for the night lol. Hope to never have another one.

Well i didnt expect alot of people to share their input or stories but here goes mine then ..

My first time having sleep paralysis was about 10 years ago and still remnber it like it was yesterday but anyways that night i had felt sleep early still living in my moms house, about 2am i moved and had this feeling about someone was like watching as i move my eyes to my room door i see it half open and see this black figure at this point im trying to speak or move and could not at all so, i began sweating i keep asking inside my head what is going on ? Am i dreaming ? 5 mins into it i decided to calm down closed my eyes and start it praying .. i felt sleep and woked up the next day asking my mon if she had checked on me last night she said no how when you lock your door everynight at the moment my first instinct was lemme google this and well did my search, came to finally found out what was sleep paralysis anyways this wasnt my last either over the years i think i have experienced about 2-4 times a year always 2am or 3am, one side says its because your body is sleeping but your brain is still awake and that why you cant move .. the other side explains how its something to do with spirits or demons .. i honestly dont but i know praying or counting to 10 works for me ..

Mini_Ninja wrote I have had sleep paralysis on two separate occasions that i can remember, both times i thought i was awake, when i went to get up i couldn't move. At the time i was in my teens and i didn't really know what was going on so i just closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Ive been reading up on astral projection a lot lately and id love to try that! Its worth a youtube search!

Did you ever saw anythinf or felt anything in this 2 occasions or you was just awake and couldnt move ?

Geck wrote I have experienced it once in my life and I was under heavy influence of alcohol and energy drinks at the time. I was drinking around 12AM and having this at about 5AM so it wasn't an immediately after I had fallen asleep. It was quite scary and I think there is a wide range of causes for sleep paralysis.

While being drunk? Sheeesh never herd of that one before prob wpuld be more scarier as you cnt even be ur self when u drunk lol

Anhur wrote I have narcolepsy (not as bad as my as my sister) but i tend to get sleep paralysis when i was younger about 1-2 times a month (probably once every 3-4 months now) when i was younger it used to scare the hell out of me, you can feel yourself awake but you can't move, there's this ear piercing screech and shadowy figure that stares at you until you get function again.

As time goes on it makes your heart skip a beat but it kind of remind me of lucid dreaming. You can control what you see and how it makes you feel. I've had sleep paralysis moments where i'm just laying there looking at the wall but nothing happens.

Half of the time id say it happened due to the narcolepsy, but on other hand i used to get excited for what's happening the next day and overthink everything and stress myself out to the point i keep waking up and checking the time. Like Christmas time, i would wake up during the night and get nervous that i missed Santa and accidentally put myself in a sleep paralysis since my body is obviously tired but i'm forcing myself to wake up and turn to my clock

Thank you for sharing this ! This gives me a more understanding on sleep paralysis i hope it has stop and you are well so is your sister !
