Chaos theory is an interdisciplinary theory stating that, within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns, interconnectedness, constant feedback loops, repetition, self-similarity, fractals, and self-organization. Source- Wikipedia. This was something I've been thinking about lately. Was curious what everyone else thought!

The concept that any series of events, regardless of how complex, are theoretically predictable based on the starting principles essentially proves that the Universe is Deterministic.
We just aren't at the point technologically or intellectually where we can see and predict all of the relevant variables.

If we could see and predict those variables then the Universe would not seem chaotic to us, it would seem very orderly and we could, in essence, predict the future.

However, the study of quantum mechanics is throwing a spanner into the works because we now know that particles can seemingly pop in and out of existence randomly. Of course, just because it seems random does not mean that it is, and just because they seem to pop in and out of existence does not mean that they are.

They could be moving from one location to another, rather than from one state of existence to another.
We understand that matter can't be created or destroyed which seems to prove that these particles are moving location.

I did read a book about chaos theory when I was a bit younger but I seem to have forgotten almost everything about it.

But yes, chaos theory has convinced me of Determinism, both in the physical universe and in terms of Human free will.
