She's entitled to universal credit.. if she's not working and the current loan isn't ongoing, then she's allowed it.

I know here in Ireland if we lost or job or let off for abit we can apply for Covid19 unemployment benefit! Which gives me 410 every week.. And 4 of my employees currently have this as I don't have enough work to keep us all going.

Yeah mate if she isnt working she can get the universal credit. It's not even a hard thing to get onto and they offer you money that day to keep you going. Like I work so I'm not on it but i have been before and it does help you when you are needing it the most bud.

Hope that helped

She got a 2k loan month or two back

Which has been spent on rent and phone bill and basic living food etc etc

But now she's low, are you sure she can get UC? Will there be weeks and weeks of waiting now or ? Can you sign up and get money quick. She needs money just to stay afloat, bills food etc etc

If she is still a student and receiving student loan then she won't be entitled to Universal Credit. Technically till the term ends she is still a student receiving a student loan, just like my girlfriend.

Universities have funds they can give to students who are in financial difficulty, she will need to provide bank statements of the last 3 months or so and they come to a decision on how much she will need for basic living. If you speak to the finance department I am sure they will point you in the right direction.

They may question how come she hasn't asked before and is suddenly in financial difficulty as we are in lockdown and not really spending more than we need to, so be prepared for questions like that if you do go to the university.

This was on the gov website bro I can Dm the whole article so you can read through it

Will you still take student loan repayments if I can't work due to Coronavirus?
It's important to remember that you'll only make repayments to your student loan once you're earning over the repayment threshold for your repayment plan type. This means that if you stop working, or your income drops below the threshold, your repayments will stop too.
