So I'm really contemplating on going to PC gaming, but I really need something that will open up my eyes and have my mind blown. I just want to make sure I'll be making the right choice and what are the true benefits of PC gaming and I do mean TRUE facts and nothing opinionated.

id personally make the switch now before new PS5 and Xbox are out becuase PC Same performance if not better and more game options. Its really better when you think about it except people tend to have more of a community on xbox or ps.

Facts would be that you have more room to do what you want with hardware and games.

If you want to play a gorgeous game at 4k ultra, you can do that with the hardware. If you want to sit back sweat on a game with 144Hz or higher refresh rates, you can do that. If you're someone that is into audio, most modern motherboards have very high level built in sound cards where you can just sit around and enjoy some music from a game with a decent pair of headphones unlike any other.

Hardware itself is easily managed to change out should you need to do so. Most computers you won't need to upgrade for years unless you're someone like me who wants to try and game at 4k 144Hz, then it becomes a yearly thing basically. But if you're the normal gamer who is comfortable on 1080p/1440p, you honestly don't need to upgrade as often as some people make it sound. There is/was this bullshit 'argument' going around that you need to upgrade your hardware to the newest and latest every year. That is not true for 99% of PC gamers. For people like me who want to push 4k 144Hz and soon 5k or 8k gaming, that's where that comes into play but you don't even need to go that far for a great gaming experience.

On top of that, your computer is something most people use quite often for either YouTube or daily browsing, so if you're going to build a gaming PC, why not also let your experience be better for your daily driver.

From there, I would say the biggest benefit is that you don't need to pay for a subscription. Now I haven't used a console other than my Switch in nearly 8 years, so I'm not sure if Xbox or PlayStation did away with their monthly subscriptions, but if they haven't -- PC has no monthly subscription, just basically pay your internet bill and you're good to go. Steam also has sales quite often for games with 2-3 major sale events a year. You can easily get multiple games for under $100, even if it was something that came out like last year.

Now if you're a person who cares more for ease of access or comfort, I would have to hand that to consoles. A console you can easily just play at your couch or bed without having to do much. PC while you can do that, you have to jump through some hoops. Either connect your PC to your TV, stream it to your TV or buy a Steam Machine -- regardless though, using a mouse and keyboard on say your bed or couch kind of sucks.

If you're someone who is into racing or flying simulators, there are some crazy stupid setups out there that can really immerse you into it, talking a full flight deck with multiple monitors and some people even basically get setups for racing sims like you would see at arcades to really get the immersion that you're driving on different terrains through shifting and vibrations. On top of that, if you're wanting to get into it eventually, VR is something that has really been getting stronger and only can go up after Steam showed what Half Life Alyx is able to do.

For me, I'm someone that wants to play my games in different multitudes. If I'm playing a single player campaign game like Modern Warfare, NieR:Automata, any RPG game or most indie games like Shantae, Indivisible, Bloodstain Ritual of the Night, I want the graphics to be top of the line so I can see what the artists did and get to experience the beautiful world/environments that they created. If I want to go pubstomping on Modern Warfare online or CSGO, dude, switch it over to my other monitor and go run at that 165 Hz and do my thing. Consoles don't let you do that or even remotely to it's quality and that's the main driving force for me when it comes to PC, is I can have a game run as high quality as I want, have it run as fast as I want or I can push the hardware to be able to do both.

I guess the best way for it to be an eye opener for you, is if you have a Frys, Microcenter or some sort of equivalent, when you get the chance (I guess when this whole shit blows over with COVID-19) ask to demo a computer, especially one that is above 60Hz. Even just moving your mouse around on your desktop above 60Hz you will never want to go back, which most TVs are still 30-60Hz and you will visually see the huge difference just from simply moving icons around.

Mouse and keyboard may be tricky to get used to at first, literally every button on your keyboard can be changed into some sort of input, but no bullshitting, mouse has been so much more accurate for me and I took to it very easily. Now I can't even fathom how I would consider myself accurate on controller back when I used to play on Xbox 360.

I've recently moved to PC from Xbox, I'm finding gaming experience alot better, games running alot smoother for me personally and a wider range of games as well and better custom options for certain games. It takes a while for you to get used to keyboard and mouse but its so worth it in the long run
