Hi ,

Just wondering how I can get my Nat type to go from moderate to open ? I tried where you test xbox live connection and where you go to network settings on the xbox 360 to reset to default.

If this helps my modem router is the : PYTHON - Dual Band Wireless AC1600

Thank you for your help

Here is an Example of what NAT is ^^

Here is an Example of what Port forwarding is vv

2.

Watch in this order.

1. You'll want to look into setting up a Reserved IP for your Console in your router settings. This is a setting in the private network.

2. Once an IP is Reserved, you will setup port forwarding to this specific IP Address reserved for your gaming stuff. This basically tells the firewall to not block any connections using these specific ports to this specific private IP address.

NAT - Basically you're telling the router to send a packet on behalf of the device. It translates the request from a private request, to a public request.

Firewall. - Blocks unknown packets from entering the private network. Port forwarding tells the firewall to allow packets from a specific port to a specific private IP address.

Port Forwarding - Rules set to the Firewall

portforward.com/d-link/dsl-2888a/ - This is only a guide for port forwarding at this link. Make sure you set your device to a Private Static IP in the Router Settings. Sometimes Called DHCP IP Reservation, or Reserved IP Address in some cases; then do the port forwarding.

Make sure your DNS Settings are all matching up between your modem/router > Xbox if they are not all the same you can sometimes have issues.

I recommend

Primary: 8.8.8.8
Secondary 8.8.4.4
