Hi all,

Relative newbie here. My son is 14, we built his first pc together a couple of years ago. He's added a few bits over time and recently bought a new case and mobo. We built it today with a freshly formatted m.2 but it won't boot.. nada.. nonsignal to the monitor, fans come on, we get 3 long beeps from the system speaker and the cpu and ram leds on the mobo light up. Spec is;

Msi mpg x570 mobo
Ryzen 5
24gb or ram in 1 16gb ballistic stick and one 8gb hyper
1tb m.2 (cant remember who by)
Gpu rtx580

We've tried reseatingn the cpu and ram, different slots for the ram, tried without the gpu.. we're a bit lost.. any help??

What is the make and model of your PSU?
Which Ryzen 5 CPU have you got?

I'm willing to bet it's either an issue with the RAM or the PSU, if it's not an issue with a loose or misplaced cable.

So, clear CMOS and take it back to basics. Use only the CPU(+ cooler), Mobo, RAM, and of course the PSU. Plug the motherboard 24-pin in, and the CPU 8-pin. Then put in only one stick of RAM. Let us know if you can boot to the BIOS like this. If you can, try the same again with the other stick of RAM.
