Ehh, it depends. Diesels outfitted with a DPF (in America anything newer than 2008) is cleaner than gas, you can actually breath the exhaust with no adverse health effects to your body. There's not a smell either (but I do prefer the smell of the older diesels) and diesels have more torque than gas engines.

Other pros to diesel is they usually get better MPG (though it is also more expensive so that point is void), due to their red line being so small (my truck red lines at I believe 4250) and being a generally lower reving engine, the parts don't move as fast so they don't wear as quick, and diesel is a lubricant so diesel engines tend to last longer than gas.

Love for everybody who voted Diesel!
I will always chose Diesel over petrol, alot more torque, sounds better and the fuel actually lasts longer!

And also this is why I love Diesels because of adding a 'Popcorn Limiter' which I have

I respect diesel vehicles for their ability to be easily tuned, their life span and also the torque the vehicles can put out, however the price tag attached to a diesel and how much maintenance and everything costs to fix makes me lean more towards the petrol route. Petrol vehicles are also much cleaner to work on lol.

That's your opinion, but fair enough if that is what you think. We all have our own preferences.
