Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB 3600Mhz
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x

The RAM was on sale. The MOBO said it goes up to 3466mhz OC.

My question is: Will I get the 3466 from the 3600 without Overclocking the RAM?

Full disclosure. I am not knowledgeable with RAM frequency and latency (Obviously). Trying to understand.

Would it be more beneficial to just part ways with this RAM and buy the Trident Z 3200's? Suggestions or input VERY welcome.

No. You will need to set the speed in BIOS. By default, it will run at 2133 or 2400MHz I think. So you will need to enable D.O.C.P(AMD's version of XMP)- MSI call it A-XMP AFAIR. You might not get past 3200MHz with A-XMP though, or you could be lucky and be fine at 3466MHz. MSI will probably have a QVL list for the B450 Tomahawk, if you know the model number of your RAM you can check what frequency it is capable of if it has been tested by MSI on that motherboard.

I wouldn't bother getting different RAM, I'd just hold on to what you already have.
