Hello,

So, I'm having a bad day. After trying to patch my NAND with the correct DVD key and OSIG so that my DVD drive will work on my DemoN NAND, I appear to have corrupted my NAND.

Hardware install details

In summary:

  • the retail NAND boots just fine;
  • the DemoN NAND boots to Xell; and
  • the DemoN NAND does not boot to the dashboard.

When trying to boot to the dashboard on the DemoN NAND, it performs the glitch attempts as normal but then does not appear on the screen; the green light remains on however.

I have multiple backups of my DemoN NAND from the latest dashboard too.

I hope someone out there can help me out here, would happily reward. <3

EDIT: Since this post I have tried the following:

  • Placing the last working backup of the NAND (named updflash.bin) on the root of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and booting to Xell Reloaded v0.993.
  • Placing a copy of rawflash v4 and the last working backup of the NAND (named nandflash.bin) on the root of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and booting to Xell Reloaded v0.993.
  • Repeating the above with three different USB drives.
  • Repeating the above with/without the HDD attached.
  • Repeating the above with/without the DVD drive data cable attached.
  • Repeating the above with/without the DVD drive power cable attached.

Xell Reloaded appears to recognise the USB drive: "EHCI bus 1 device 5: vendor CDAB product 3412 : Mass-Storage Device". However, it just continues to search for files on the HDD (when attached) and the local network.

EDIT 2: FIXED!

It turns out that Xell is VERY picky about the USB drive you use. After trying the three different USB drives before, I went and grabbed my 128GB SD card from my car's dash cam.

This card was too large to natively format to FAT32 using Windows. Instead, I formatted to FAT using macOS and placed a copy of rawflash v4 and the last working backup of the NAND (named nandflash.bin) on the root. Instantly worked!

I can't understand why this worked over the other USBs and formatting methods but, it did!

I have seen that, cheers man.

Although, my main issue is getting the Xecuter DemoN to show up in Windows at all.
