WW2 was the first COD since MW3 that I can happily say was enjoyable and I sunk a fair amount of hours into. If they are moving more towards that and further again into COD4 roots, then fine by me. I don't ask for much, just a FOV slider. Dedicated servers on PC would be nice but yaknow, never going to happen....

Sean wrote More from Jason Schreier report he posted that now.

News of this year's strangely named Call of Duty leaked out via YouTuber LongSensation this morning. Activision has been showing the game to press and "influencers" (YouTubers and streamers) for a week or two now, so a leak like this was inevitable. Kotaku has not seen the game or agreed to any embargo, but we've heard from many sources connected to the Call of Duty world that it is indeed called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and that it's a "soft reboot"

I'm still trying to figure out what the hell they mean by a soft reboot?

Same which is why I'm thinking it could be a prequel to CoD 4, it's the only place I can really see this reboot making sense really.

They could pick up where ghosts left off or like Sean said it could be the events before COD 4 which to me would actually be super intriguing!

A prequel is about all they can do they cant replay the story because they've not long released that bastardised version of CoD 4 the "Remaster" so going with the OG story is really not possible.

a MW4 story is pushing it a little the best step forward is going backwards and a prequel would do that the only issue is the end of the story has already been written.

What would be cool is to be the bad guys for once where in the campaigns end we lose such as to play as General Shepard from MW2 and we slowly become the bad guy he was and we die at the end but we see the whole thing (Including his rise to General, otherwise it would be too short) from his eyes.
