I'm a big dude 230 pounds I'm a senior.
I'm the strongest in my conditioning class but I always finish last while sprinting i cant seem to sprint long distances i need help.

Work on sprinting

Sprint for 30 seconds then try 35 seconds and work your way up.

Like C4 said really work on sprinting. Also focus on your breathing and find a breathing technique that works for you. I breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth and I know a lot of people only breathe through the mouth.

Best way to improve you overall rrunning/sprinting is just by increasing the amount of running or sprinting you do.

All fast and slow muscle twitch fibres can be trained and improvment will come from repition same as any other muscle if it's down to actual lung capacity then just making long regular runs part of your routine.
