A Look Under the Hood of Google's Stadia Game-Streaming Service.

The team behind Stadia, Google's cloud-based video game streaming service, declined to provide details about pricing, launch titles, or launch date here at I/O, but we did hear a lot about what powers the forthcoming platform.

So for no details about the release or the price :/

somewhere in Google's massive cloud infrastructure. What you see on the screen is nothing more than video and audio piped to your home.

This means that Stadia can, in theory, run any game on a phone, low-spec computer, or even a streaming device like the Chromecast. It also means that all of your inputs--moves, button presses, clicks, etc.--have to be sent from your home back to the cloud-based device running your game. That's a helluva roundtrip, and raises concerns that a huge delay (that is, latency) could exist between pressing a button and seeing the result on screen.

I think this is not a bad idea for using the cloud service. And to use on your phone or older computer that's a nice add. But I still always prefer Xbox.

While the success or failure of Stadia is a long way off, one thing is clear: Google has made a major investment in this project. We'll have to wait until later this year, when Stadia is expected to launch, to find out if that was a wise investment.

Maybe there will be more details soon, would be nice to see all the stuff about it.
