This will be my first custom PC build so I'm EXTREMELY new to this and have no previous experience atall but I am looking to build a high performing PC as I'm bored of consoles and limited laptops.

I've always played via laptop but now looking to upgrade to PC so looking for pro advice here.

All the deets below;

Budget & Currency: £1500-2000

Peripherals & Monitor: Preferably UHD

Games:
ESO/WoW/Sekiro/Gears of War/PUBG

Software: N/A

Aesthetics: Clear case with LEDs

Rebates/Promos: N/A

Details: Would like a PC that has great performance levels, doesn't make alot of noise and looks the part.

When: June/July/August

Give this one a quick look. I included a 1440p 144hz monitor since 4K is useless and higher refresh rate is better in almost every scenario.

Most of build is good, I would probably recommend getting an NVME M.2 instead of a SATA M.2 SSD.
Would also be a good idea to get additional storage because 1TB will end up gone very quickly.
I would recommend getting an aftermarket cooler too considering OP said he wants it nice and quiet.
With the additional money, could upgrade to a 2080 instead of 2070.

Upper end of budget:

The fact that you would even recommend spinning storage makes me physically ill. Only SSD it's 2019.

Well you can go and drop phat stacks for large volumes of storage if you like.
SSD-only speeds is highly unnecessary...

That's a nice build!

Any info on how long it would take to build and if it would be difficult as a first time?

Building is easy especially with Ryzen since the cpu slots into place. It usually takes me about two hours to build a computer because I am all about cable management.

If your PC is only for gaming, then I would suggest going with Intel. Intel chips are superior for gaming when going against AMD. Ryzen's aren't bad CPUs, but you have the money so why not get what's better. If you plan on streaming, gaming, and maybe even video editing; then I would go with the Ryzen Gary suggested. (Changing to the Ryzen 7 2700X in my build would require a different motherboard with an AM4 socket type like in Gary's build.) The Intel chip in my build can also stream if you wanted to and it also has 8 cores like the Ryzen 7 2700X. I included an AIO Liquid Cooler as it should be quieter unless you plan on overclocking the CPU. Depending on how extreme the overclock is, you may need to increase the RPM speed of the fans causing more noise. 32GB of RAM is not necessary unless you're a video creator/editor but it's nice to have. With that said, you could swap out the 2x8 for the 2x16 Corsair Vengeance. A M.2 is also not necessary unless you buy a cheap one with only 125GB of storage for the OS. Most games you don't see a noticeable difference when compared to an SSD. Hard drives are still cheaper and work fine so SSDs only isn't needed. You can find a cheap Windows 10 OS on eBay or Kinguin. Paying over $100 for Windows 10 is stupid. You can also run Windows 10 without an activation key if you want. I chose the same monitor as Garry but you can also get two monitors like a 1080p 144hz one (amazon.com/Acer-XFA240-bmjdpr-Res...amp;sr=8-3) paired with a cheaper 1080p 60hz monitor.

Building PC's aren't hard and there are many YouTube videos going step by step. Your build may take a couple hours to do, depending on how many videos you watch and how much you understand. Cable management is probably going to take the longest. An experienced PC builder can do it in an hour or so. Time doesn't matter though, just take your time and have fun with it.

August is still a few months away. If you're not building for a while, new components will have released by the time you build. Zen 2 CPU's are supposed to be announced around the end of the month. Also some rumours of an RTX 2070Ti.

I'd definitely be going with Ryzen, but I'm not sure I'd spend almost £300 for an R7 2700x. If the 2700 comes back up on Amazon for £160 and you need something asap, then that would be a decent shout, or an R5 2600, but Zen 2 will likely make more sense. £400 should be more than enough for an 8 core Zen 2 CPU and a nice X570 motherboard.

+1 for the Samsung JG50, it's a great monitor and an absolute steal for 250 quid IMO. If you really want to go 4k though, you can get some decent 4k monitors for about £350.

Also +1 for the Dark Rock Pro 4. The Dark Rock(non Pro) 4 is also a good option, but the price difference is so minimal, I'd probably just get the Pro.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler (£67.25 @ CCL Computers)
Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£74.98 @ Ebuyer)
Storage: Intel - 660p Series 2 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£199.42 @ More Computers)
Video Card: Sapphire - Radeon VII 16 GB Video Card (£619.99 @ Box Limited)
Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P600S ATX Mid Tower Case (£122.99 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 (EU) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£84.98 @ Amazon UK)
Monitor: LG - 27UD58-B 27.0" 3840x2160 60 Hz Monitor (£325.01 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £1494.62

With an X570 motherboard and an R5 3600(X), or maybe R7 3700(X). Swap the Radeon VII for an RTX 2080 if you want, but I'd take the Radeon VII if you go 4k tbh. That said, yields for the RTX 2070 and 2080 are supposedly better now, so might see prices start to creep down a little in the coming weeks, if we're lucky. This will put you pretty close to your £2k budget when you include CPU+Mobo, but you could easily get it closer to £1500 if you really want.
