Netflix's Aggretsuko takes place in the workplace culture and runs a storyline on it through humour and adorable characters. Retsuko is the typical image of a Japanese office lady but she is a red panda. She is at the bottom of the social ladder in her workplace. Her dutiful life skills and need to please everyone, to never let someone down makes her an easy target for abuse by her work superiors.
Some comments made to her is "Extra paperwork? Just get Retsuko to do it and she will. She's so humble that when she goes into a clothing store, she will buy socks just to seem like she was not just sitting there doing nothing.

But there is only so much she can take and then she pops.

How does she survive the daily abuse from her komodo dragon of a supervisor and pig of a boss? She counts to 10 to centre herself later and then also by locking herself inside a karaoke booth and screaming heartfelt heavy metal.

This anime has a lot of gags and is very funny. Her best humour comes from the other character's interactions at work. You have Fenneko the fennec fox friend to Retsuko who takes pictures of everything her friend has the best emotionless laugh in fiction, Haida the hyena with a crush on our protagonist main character, that co-worker who always gives too much personal information, and let us not forget the protein workout dude. Every character is great.
I love the choice of using animals for this anime and for the contrast they bring.

This is also related to the cute art style reminiscent of Hello Kitty (made by the same company btw).

My RATING: 9.5/10
Art 8/10
Voice Acting 9/10
Characters 10/10
