My phone stopped working and wont even charge or anything and i took it to the apple store and they said the cpu was messed up and theres nothing they can do. Is it possible to get it fixed and around how much would it cost? I really need to get my stuff on the phone and was an idiot and never backed it up

They could be lying to you to make you upgrade, I'm not saying they are but unless you have dropped the phone or damaged it in some way then I can't see how the cpu could just fail.

Could just be an easy fix like the charging port or battery, have you tried connecting the phone to iTunes in DFU mode?

Also if you backed you phone up recently with iTunes you can re-flash the backup to another 6s or you can get a programme for your computer to recover all your files from the iTunes backup file that will be saved on your pc.

If it's not powering on, it's most likely the main logic board. I'm assuming the tech ran an ICC test and said it wouldn't power on. You can attempt to try and replace the battery or hot swap the device if you're really desperate. (Removing the battery and plugging in the battery directly to a power source.) That way if the battery is blocking the device from getting to the boot up stage at the least you can get information. I would say it's not too huge of a deal but I'd advise for someone who's repaired phones to do it.

He ran ICC, watch a couple videos of techs opening the device up. You'll need a small Philips head to remove the cowling above the battery connector. Once you disconnect attempt to plug the phone into power.
