Actually, I would disagree with Steam going downhill. On April 30th, it was reported Steam has 1 billion accounts created with 90 million active users within that month. It seems they've gone up because I believe back in November or December of 2018, they had 47 million active users that month.

Yeah same... so many of my friends have made their own custom PCs and used steamed and they said it's way better than console. So, I would have to disagree as well I think steam and the pc gaming is killing it lately!

PC gaming has always killed it, I don't mean the "hurrrr PC mustard race" stuff, but I mean it opened the doors for a whole lot, simply because on Steam there are "games" that can help teach you a language, help you learn to code, help you learn game design, even if at the most basic level and I'm sure there's others I'm missing. It gets to bring people into something they might be interested to further push them to start a career down that path. Then of course you have stuff like mod support and really getting to make games that should look gorgeous, do it, depending on your hardware.

I never meant steams numbers are going downhill cause they're not but the quality of the software is going downhill they let a lot of weird stuff slide on the platform and still take a good chunk of change away from developers just for using their platform. Of course the numbers are great but the quality of the stuff on there has dropped a good bit, this is the worse I've seen steam since 2012

I'm on Reddit constantly and I tend to browse the PCMR and Steam subreddit a lot and usually something like that sticks in my mind because it's a rather big milestone in my opinion and because it's something different from people posting PC builds or asking questions, so it has that little special category in my mind I guess.

Reddit is used for a lot of things, there is sections for PC, but mostly people post memes and other funny things on there. It's pretty funny usually.

Oh that I 100% agree on, like I posted a day or two ago, within 1 week they had 400 new games released, but most was the usual very low budget, make a quick buck type of game. I wish they would have kept Greenlight, that kinda stopped games of low quality getting onto the platform, at least in the amount it has been. I can't even begin to tell you how many friends of mine download some new "picture/card game" we all know what that is, because it's "new" and the only thing that has changed is the pictures but it's still on the store as a brand new game. Steam kinda got roped into that because the community was pulling a late 90's/early 2000's Sega community ordeal. No one seemed to be happy about Greenlight because it was hard to get your game on Steam unless you or your game just went viral somewhere and got a bunch of traction, then it was almost an instant approval, people started complaining about Steam censoring "mature" and Adult games. Steam caved in to people, Greenlight is gone, now you just fill out a form saying you want Steam to publish your games, make the game, if it's an adult game, who cares, as long as it doesn't break some guidelines, the game could be a 25 minute game and it'll be slapped onto Steam now. Kinda sucks, but I have to put the blame partially on the community for that, because the forums used to be flooded with people asking, and basically demanding that Steam just let people throw whatever onto the platform and when they caved in, it has become a hassle to find good new releases at times.
