Nicky wrote Ooo I will be watching this. Nintendo has done very well with the switch and I am highly considering buying one. My brother has one and he loves it. So many cool games are now being able to be played on the Switch so I'm definitely thinking about it. Hopefully they have a good E3 show.

Yess!! I want to get one as well. I all ready have Xbox One and PS4 and 3 and also 3DS. But all the cool games seems to be going to the switch . It's like the biggest console right now.

I know! The biggest console yet so cool to either play on itself or up on a tv or monitor pretty sick device!
I totally forgot that you can use the switch on a tv

We
Yeah any size of TV. An then you can take the switch with you anywhere.
I really only ever use switch on tv tbh I don't prefer using the handheld version just better imo onnthe tv

TV is the only way to go in my opinion, yeah I've used it handheld but that's only if I bring it somewhere. My main reason for it being docked for the TV really is because I don't like the joycons much when I compare it to the Pro Controller that I took apart to cut in octagonal gates on the control sticks like the GameCube controller has lol

I wear glasses so on our big screen TV to play games is great. So more likely when I am home (which on the weekends I am somewhat ) then I'd have the switch hooked up. But going on the bust to work this will be great to have and play. But again I prefer the TV.

My brother has one and both are amazing. I couldn't believe it. But I guess it's all preference.

I have to agree on the TV it does have better performance and is alot easier to see but going to work and have some time to kill is what I use my 3DS XL for. So I think I would benefit most from the portability.

Actually, the Switch has better performance in handheld mode, but it's not a crazy amount that you'll ever really notice. Someone on YouTube did a comparison in the past and one of the most recent ones was Smash Ultimate. When Smash Ultimate launched, there was a glitch where you could spawn an infinite amount of assist trophies, some who were just stupid big or had a bunch of particles/effects. Somehow it wouldn't crash the game at all and when he did the comparison with that glitch, handheld mode never dropped below 60FPS, while docked would hit 58 FPS sometimes. It seems that most Switch devs build the game based around the handheld mode and then do the docked mode afterwards. It also makes sense for the handheld to have better performance since it is at 720p with no scaling, where as on TV, it's 1080p whilst stretching to fit your TV. Again, it's not a performance difference you'll really notice, maybe if you were playing a 2D/3D fighting game since frame data is VERY important on those games, whereas platform fighting games, action games and racing probably won't mean much with a 1-2 FPS loss.

Switch in general has more power than the 3DS and just looks way better overall graphic wise. The jump from DS to 3DS in terms of graphics was a huge step, but if you were to look at graphics for say, Pokemon Sun and Moon/Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on the 3DS and then compare them to Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee on the Switch, the graphics look so much better. Games like Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and those games in my opinion are better suited for consoles with 2 screens, so I'll agree that those are some of the few games that are better or more fun to play on the 3DS. Really looking to see what Nintendo is going to push graphic wise for their games on the current Switch and if/when the new Switch comes out, because games like Breathe of the Wild already look gorgeous on 720p and 1080p, but when you download an emulator and run it at 4k graphics, it's beautiful and I would love to see Nintendo push their graphics further on games.

The text and graphics do look better on the Switch like you showed me. Yeah I agree depends what games. I wanna see a Harvest Moon game a NEWER one come out for switch. As for Pokemon Sun and Moon I never played it looked like such a disappointment... but Pokemon for Switch looks great and better graphics as well.

Again, it's not a performance difference you'll really notice, maybe if you were playing a 2D/3D fighting game since frame data is VERY important on those games, whereas platform fighting games, action games and racing probably won't mean much with a 1-2 FPS loss.

I'll admit I am sure some games are better on the switch than the 3DS to play. Like some of the Zelda games might do better on the TV to play than 3DS.

Wonder what they are planning for the 3DS

are they making a new DS? i thought the switch was the "upgrade"

No new DS systems have been announced and I really don't think they will need to. The Switch was and is both in a way a successor to the Wii U and the DS systems, since it has the power of a home console, works as a home a console and also a portable/handheld console with touch screen.

I have not heard anything about a new DS. But you never know what they will plan on and have come out. Would not be surprised if there is a new one in the works.
