Hi, I have had my PC for around 5 years and it has always been capeable of doing everything I needed, But when ive downloaded Fortnite and launched the game it goes crazy and overheats and the game is very laggy and slow, In the past it has ran Euro Truck Simulator and Minecraft with no problems so i dont know what has gone wrong with Fortnite?

These are the only specs that I know of:

Intel(R) Core i7-4770k Quad Core
CPU 3.50GHz Overclocked to 4.00GHz
RAM 8GB
Intel HD Graphics 4600
Running Windows 7

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it,

Thanks.

What part of the computer overheats? If you can use a program like Speccy

Getting a GPU is recommended

I ran Fortnite with Speccy and the CPU temperature seemed to be the one that shot up, so do I need a better CPU and GPU?

Do you have a CPU cooler? Considering you have it OC'd you really need a good cooler.

I'm not too sure but I assume it would have because it was a friend that built it for me and It cost £1000 at the time, it sits quite cool most of the time apart from starting up fortnite

What are you using to measure temperatures?

How do you know you're overheating?

Did you do that Overclock yourself?

I use a PC Meter software that my friend put on to keep an eye on the Ram and temperatures/Usage of the CPU and stuff, I also tried Speccy that was recommended further up, and I have an alert that comes up once my PC goes up to a certain temperature and percentage of usage, I think it's set at around 84 degrees and no the person that built it overclocked it.
