Gonna keep this nice and short but today NASA officially claimed Opportunity dead..

His final transmission was "My batteries are low and it's getting dark"

He was taken out by a dust storm last June but was finally declared dead this afternoon by NASA.

His life expectancy was 90 days and he lived for 15 years on the red planet we plan to colonize.

Absolutely insane technology that helped us learn so much about Mars.
They've had to of known it would last longer than 90 days, because going on for 15 years is no where close. Can't believe it's actually done now but what info it gave us will live on for a very, very long time.

NASA has put together the last picture that Opportunity produced before being sucked up by a sandstorm.
