Recently got the S, on my old XB1 i used a wired connection (Cat5 i think) now, my S doesn't seem to connect with the same ethernet cable, just keeps dropping out of connection every 10 seconds... I'm aware that it is an existing issue with the S model, but just can;t find any solutions, could it be the cable speed, is it not fast enough? Id consider upgrading to a CAT6/7, if this would fix it, but don't want to buy one if that isn't going to solve the issue...

Phoned xbox a few weeks ago and got cut off just after she recommend a RJ45 Ethernet cable? but wasn't 100% sure she said that...

any advice would be much appreciated...

Thanks

If your old Xbox One didn't have any issues, then try connecting via WiFi and checking for any system updates. If that doesn't work, and since you said its a known issue for Xbox One S's, try exchanging it either through the store or Microsoft. I upgraded to the Xbox One S slighty after it was released and I haven't had any issues with wired connection.
