Can someone please explain what the purpose of no overnight on street parking is because I've gotten a few tickets including last night and it's **** dumb. How is a parked car in the street bothering anyone? I looked up the purpose and it says to "keep crime down"? How is an unoccupied car causing any crime? And if they're worried about cars being broken into, a car parked in a driveway vs. on street isn't going to stop someone from breaking into it lol

Well a car on the street does help promote a car being burglarized because for one, it's easier to get away and not get caught, just lowers the chances, two, IM SAYING FROM EXPERIENCE, I've parked my car in the street and had people throw bottles of soda on it and splatter it on my car. It can easily be not seen and get hit by a drunk driver. These are the few reasons, might not feel a big deal to you, but these are great possibilities.

It helps keep crime down due to the fact there wouldn't be a parked, unoccupied car at night. Which would be broken into.

Depends on the area. It is to prevent crime but also safety for other drivers as in my neighborhood, you're not allowed to park on the street during the night as it's a windy road and increases risk of accidents. There are many factors that come into play. Seems stupid. Especially if you don't have anywhere else to park.

In an area like mine the city ordinances this time of the year are exact same but only for snow removal mostly. Being its not a high populated area for robberies and such.

Some areas have it so it lowers the chance of having your car broken into in the middle of the night. Some cities have street sweepers that clean the street at night.
