hey, how can i use my Xbox one controller on PC minecraft, java and modded?

the steam method where you add minecraft to your library and configure your controller doesn't seem to work for me, so is there any other way i can do this?

There is third party apps that will allow you to map the key to the controller. If you have the Windows 10 version of minecraft then that has controller support standard.

joytokey.net/en/

You can always give that program a try. You will need to mess with settings as dead zones through emulation are always a problem.

I thought most games offered the controller support so you wouldnt have to map the keys for it?

Depends on the game. Older games typically won't have controller support. Minecraft Java version is technically old so it's never been integrated into the game.

This website is pretty handy for things like that. pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home

After looking on PCWiki, I did find this for Minecraft Link
